- The NMEA 0183 gateway allows you to connect NMEA 0183 equipment to an NMEA 2000 network and vice versa. It has a bi-directional converter that supports many types of messages, including AIS and autopilot.
- it allows controlling Raymarine SeaTalk NG autopilots from NMEA 0183;
- flexible filter system for blocking NMEA 0183 messages per sentence and NMEA 2000 messages by PGN, a sender address or a 29-bit message identifier;
- powered from NMEA 2000 and provides high voltage galvanic isolation between NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 ports;
- NMEA 2000 can be used as a multiplexer for NMEA 0183 equipment (see banner at the top of the page); routing between RX and TX lines of NMEA port 0183; fast heading option (12 Hz) for radars;
The gateway has an NMEA 2000 connection and an NMEA 0183 port with transmission and receive data lines. The configurable baud rate of 300 to 115200 bauds for NMEA port 0183 enables the connection of AIS transceivers (38400 bauds), fast NMEA 0183 multiplexers and PC adapters, as well as standard NMEA 0183 equipment. NMEA 0183 "Single" (RS-232) and "Differential" (RS-422) connections are supported. Compatible with PC COM (serial) ports and USB / serial adapters. The device is equipped with a Micro SD card slot used for configuration, firmware updates and recording diagnostic data. No special software is required to update or configure the gateway. You only need a device (laptop or smartphone) that has a MicroSD card reader and a simple text editor.
