Highly detailed 1/72 scale assembly model kit of the Yakovlev Yak-3, a World War II single-seat fighter of the former Soviet Union. The Yak-3 was widely considered as one of the finest fighter design of the era, and by the time it was introduced in 1944, the Soviet Union were not only producing high-performance aircrafts like the Yak-9, it was turning out a new generation of well-trained and experienced fighter pilots. Yak-3 was one of the aircraft which help Soviet fighter pilots turned the tide against the once mighty Luftwaffe. Light weight and powered by a variety of powerful Klimov VK series engines, the Yak-3 had excellent power-to-weight ratio, and the Yak-3 also carried a powerful punch. A good example was the Yak-3P variant, which was armed with three 20 mm Berezin B-20 cannons, the kind of fire power that would make any opposing pilots flinch. A well aimed one second burst from a Yak-3P could easily send any contemporary aircrafts of the era down in flames. This limited edition Hasegawa 1/72 scale kit features good cockpit and exterior details. Illustrated assembly guide included.
